Hidden away in the heart of Los Angeles’ Koreatown sits the dim sum house called Golden Pouch, a small window to order place on W. 6th Street where if you blink you’ll miss it. If you’re craving and in L.A. — get the f here!
There’s a limited menu, but trust me, it’s all beyond awesome. Three types of Shao Mai — Chive Shrimp Pork, Kimchi Pork and Shrimp. Two types of Xiao Long Bao (steamed dumplings) — Pork and Bulgogi. My mouth is watering just thinking about it all.
Order on their convenient touch screens, take a seat under the picnic tables and listen to the latest hip-hop while waiting (not long I’ll add) for your food. You may notice a silver trailer on the side which, if the picnic tables are occupied, opens up and provides extra seating for a little retro feel.
I’m not sure how long this place has been around, but it’s already been noticed by LA Weekly, Eater LA, LA Magazine and a bunch of other food gurus we love.
We’ll leave you with these photos. Good luck lasting the night without dumplings.
