Taylor Swift debuted her “Look What You Made Me Do” music video at the MTV VMAs on Sunday … and boy, was it worth waiting for!
The video begins with a zombie Taylor rising out of her grave with a “Here Lies Taylor Swift’s Redemption” headstone, then shows the “dead” singer burying her old self. Other clips include T-Swift crashing a gold Ferrari while paparazzi look on, robbing a bank in a cat mask while wearing a tiger sweatshirt (Katy Perry reference?) and surrounding herself with slithering snakes … which clearly targets Kim Kardashian for her mean girl tweet about the singer last summer.
Wait it’s legit National Snake Day?!?!?They have holidays for everybody, I mean everything these days! 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍
And there’s no denying … the girl’s got moves! Taylor struts her stuff with an all-male dance crew and totally dominates the floor.
But the highlight of the video comes at the end when we’re introduced to the “old” T-Swifts, including the nerdy teen from her “You Belong With Me” video, the swan ballerina from “Shake It Off” and 2009 Taylor from the infamous VMA interruption involving Kanye West. The “old” Taylors start fighting with each other using insults that’s widely said by T-Swift critics. Some include: “Stop making that surprise face. It’s so annoying!” and “There she goes playing the victim again.”
Then she goes for Kimye’s jugulars, using a quote from their epic controversy surrounding his single “Famous.” “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative,” which is what she said in a statement after Kim made her private phone call with Kanye very public.
